1- Where did you come from, where are you based now, and why?
I was born in Miami, Florida but I’m now based in Los Angeles, which feels most like home to me despite me having no family here. It’s more about the balance of chaos and beauty that makes it feel cozy to me.
2- Why Los Angeles?
I received a lot of discouragement before I moved here but the truth is I just love Los Angeles.
3- When did your musical career begin?
My relationship with music started early when I began to learn the piano at the age of 3, that relationship continued throughout my whole life. I don’t really know when something is considered to be the start of a career but if you want to put it as when my first song was released commercially that was when I was 15.
4- What led you to decide to pursue a job in entertainment?
It feels like I’ve always wanted to do this. I think the crazier thing would have been to not pursue it.
5- What is the message behind your album’s focus single, “Jungle Fetish”?
It’s a story about innocence and how throughout all challenges it ends up surviving unscathed.

6- What do you want to accomplish with your music career?
I want to make my contribution to this world.
7- Which challenges did you face to establish yourself in the field?
Mostly it has been the solitude of being a female independent artist and finding the right people to share my vision and values with.
8- What do you think is most important in your career?
Integrity.
9- Is life always better than a good movie?
If you pay attention to the right things, life is always better.
10- Who are your biggest influences?
I grew up listening to bands like Circa Survive, Brand New, Blink-182, and Anberlin. My music might sound very different from any of them, but when I listen to myself I can hear those influences in there too!
11-What is next for Cassie Marin?
There are more projects in the horizon, but for the immediate future, I want to enjoy this album with my listeners.
