1. Where did you come from, where are you based now, and why?
We’re from all over! Julie is South American and grew up in Spain, Angel is Congolese and grew up in London, Chloe is Scottish and Izzy and Tyger are born and raised Londoners! London is Calyco’s home. We love the opportunities this city has to offer!
2- When did the group start making music?
We started making music together in 2021. It hasn’t been long but we knew we had something special straight away!
3- What is your favorite song to perform?
We all love Dance With U! The crowd always interact (we throw the “Candy Dance” into it) and sing along with this one and it’s so much fun!
4-What type of musician would you prefer to collaborate with?
All of us have such different musical backgrounds that we could answer this question in 10 different ways. As a group we love old school R&B, we are huge Jodeci fans. Just imagine the harmonies!!!
5- What is the message behind Unpredictable?
Unpredictable is light hearted and fun. We want people to feel their absolute best when they listen to this song. It’s about feeling strong and confident and going for what you want.
6- Do you follow a process or ritual before a performance to get rid of nerves or performance anxiety?
We just hype each other up! We are genuinely each other’s biggest fans. We love to go on stage with as much energy as possible.
7- What do you consider to be the most significant aspect of your music career?
We were all born to perform. We love every aspect of this career but nothing makes us happier than being on stage performing our music to a crowd. It’s the best feeling in the world!
8- What do you want to accomplish in the music industry?
Calyco are striving to be the biggest band in the world! Go big or go home, right?
9- What is one message you would give to your fans?
There’s nothing you can’t achieve if you put your mind to it! Work hard for your dreams but also be warm and kind to everyone you meet.
10- What is next for CALYCO?
We plan to start our UK wide schools tour early next year and meet as many of our Calyco Soldiers as possible. We cant wait! We also have some more international performances in the schedule. Keeping busy!
