TOP 5 TRACKS OF THE WEEK #7

Hey guys, how are you doing?

It is almost the end of 2020; I do not know if you noticed but it seems the time is passing us by faster than any other moment in the modern era. We’ve had a great year, and we hope you have experienced a great year too. For us, we are still with our mission, recognizing incredible talents that are submitting their stunning tracks to us. Please do sit back and relax once again for the top five tracks of the week powered by Musosoup.

This week we have some exceptionally gifted artists from Atlanta to the UK, bringing the best of alternative and indie music.

Let’s check that out.

1-Sabiine – Hotline

Hailing from Atlanta, Sabiine is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter. Recently she released a couple of songs along with Hotline, which is part of her EP called Dragonfruit, the record is so superb that you can be listening to it on nonstop repeat for sure. Following up her great taste for music, Sabiine is known for her incredibly unique voice which is influenced by Ellie Goulding and Hope Sandoval, this has helped build a successful original blend all of her own. As an artist, Sabiine’s work already has achieved thousands of streams.

Confirming she is a rising star in the scene, Hotline is a song that sounds like an alternative pop dream produced by Tyler Gunz, who captured the perfect feeling, leading her directly to our first spot this week.

2- Plastic Glass – Going Away

Hailing from the UK, Plastic Glass is an indie rock band based in Sunderland, coming back to the music scene by dropping a brand new single called Going Away. The record is truly a “Saucy Banger,” according to our experts, filled with intricate lyrics and bold guitar lines, resulting in a stunning indie anthemic rock sound.

Doing a lot of buzz, the band is receiving the support of BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing along with sold-out headline shows at remarkable venues. This four-piece is seriously going places and lands the second spot on our list this week.

3- GIYA – The Almost Real EP

Debuting her first record Gabriella and going by the stage name of GIYA is a singer-songwriter based in London. We have to clearly state GIYA is an incredible talent about to emerge in the scene with the release of the debut called The Almost Real. The EP has five tracks, including the hits titled Blood and Children, which was recorded in four years when she was evolving from adolescence to adulthood.

Leaving an indelible mark on her listeners, GIYA is making a presence among top pop songwriters in the country after the support of tastemakers like BBC Introducing. This is a good sign that she is on the right path and a fair enough point with no argument that GIYA deserves to be in the 3rd position on our list this week.

4- Ilona Mahieu – In My Bones

Performing acoustic sets at small pubs in the South of England, Ilona Mahieu started as a solo project while she was in college where she met her pals, consecutively dropping her debut single in December of 2019. After being booked for two gigs fresh out of lockdown, the indie-rock band is coming back to the music scene, releasing a new single called In My Bones, which has already been featured by BBC Radio Introducing and is considered one of the most popular tracks so far according to their fans.

The song is a dreamy alternative pop song with stunning guitar sounds, rich vocals, and drum and bass lines that is an experience you won’t want to miss, spotting our 4th position this week.

5- FLING – Best Friends

Hailing from Bradford in the UK, FLING is an alternative pop band formed by wizards.

Not so long ago, they released a single called Best Friends along with a dope music video. Following up the success of their debut album, the band is coming back to the music scene, after a vast success among the tastemakers, including the likes of  Abbie McCarthy and Huw Stephens from BBC Radio 1, Zane Lowe from Beats 1, Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson from 6Music.

Best Friends is a melodic indie rock track, blending the alternative vibes with smooth vocals, achieving more than 30k on Spotify, and getting sizable playlist placements. Doing such decent prime work earns them the final spot and closes our list this week.
